WHAT WE DO

Scilabs observes strict adherence to 21 CFR Part 111, current Good Manufacturing Practices set forth by the FDA. Not only does Scilabs build its quality control and assurance around the cGMPs, we go one step beyond by ensuring an entirely transparent process system. From receiving to final shipment, every step of the production process is thoroughly documented and controlled.

We can make custom tablets with the capacity to produce millions every month. With multiple tablet presses, we can make round, oblong or custom shaped and size tablets to meet your needs.

Custom finish options: Aqueous Clear Coating, Color Coating, and Enteric Coating with pH control

ENCAPSULATION
Our production lines are dedicated to vegetarian (HPMC), gelatin and hard shell capsules that can be produced in various sizes such as “00”, “0”, “2” and “4”.

POWDER BLENDING
One shift alone can blend over 10,000 kg of powder. We utilize the most accurate blending methods to ensure entirely homogenous blends.

Scilabs is one of the few licensed Pet Food Processing facilities in California. We specialize in supplement powders, tablets and industrial pet care products.

RECEIVING Raw materials, components, packaging, and labeling materials are received through a specific entrance into our facility. The receiving is performed according to our SOP's. Trained personnel thoroughly check, count and identify each container before it is allowed into the "quarantine" area.
QUARANTINE Raw materials, components, packaging and labeling materials are held in the "quarantine" area until they are sampled and examined by the Quality Control Team. These procedures are performed by trained personnel as outlined in our SOP's. The procedures are designed to prevent contamination. Test results are matched up against the Certificate of Analysis. Once the raw materials have been cleared for release they are assigned an orange label. Only containers having this sticker are allowed into the main warehouse for storage.
WEIGHING AND LABORATORY The initial step of processing every batch of product is properly weighing the raw materials as indicated on the "batch production record". Our trained technicians identify each material by name and lot number. Each raw material is weighed using a calibrated scale and placed into a clean poly lined container. The container is labeled to indicate material, weight, raw material lot number, product name, and lot number of batch being produced. A second technician ensures the information is correct and matches "batch production record".
COMPOUNDING AND BLENDING To prevent any contamination of the raw materials, proper handling is emphasized every step of the way. Every processing room is equipped with dust collection ports. Material compounders identify each of the weighed raw materials and compare them to what is listed on the "batch production record". As each raw material is added to the batch, the material compounder documents the addition, and the second material compounder verifies and documents that the step has been completed.
TABLETING COMPRESSION AND ENCAPSULATION The tablet compression and encapsulation department is where dry powders take shape into a tablet or hardshell capsule. Various machines can each produce an output of one million units a day at top speed. Some tablets are processed further with "coating." This coating improves stability and enhances the appearance of the tablets.
PACKAGING Our packaging is split into two areas. Bottle filling handles tablets, hardshell capsules and softgel capsules. The powder filling handles the powder blends. Both areas are controlled by SOP's to ensure that the proper fill, components, and labeling is used on each packaging run
QUALITY CONTROL The Quality Control department's responsibility is to ensure that all the materials meet the established criteria through every phase of the process.
SHIPPING Released products are stored in the Finished Goods Area until customers arrange for pickup. If necessary, our shipping department can assist with special shipping needs and requirements.
